The Combo Chair was inspired by Joseph Pilates’ original Wunda Chair, evolved with functional innovations that stretch and strengthen muscle groups not easily reached by more traditional techniques and equipment.
Why Choose the Combo Chair
Designed to stretch and strengthen muscle groups not easily targeted, this chair was inspired by Joseph Pilates’ original Wunda Chair with functional innovations like the padded split pedal. Designed by Brent Anderson, PhD, PT, OCS, the padded split pedal allows for exercises that use rotational and reciprocal movement of the extremities. Each pedal has 2 springs (one light, one heavy) offering the widest range of resistance on the market, up to 110 lbs. (50kg) of resistance. For traditional single-pedal exercises, simply insert the included dowel.
Engineered for strength and stability, it features heavy round tubing handles that provide more stability with less flex and no rattle. These handles also offer an additional position 3 inches higher. Added bonuses: its height makes it ideal for use with a Trapeze Table, and transport wheels allow for easy portability around the studio floor.
Physical therapists and clinical Pilates instructors also favor this chair for its rotational and reciprocal exercise options, which support rehabilitation programming that a standard single-pedal chair simply cannot offer.

Frequently Asked Questions
What makes this chair different from a standard Pilates chair?
It pairs a padded split pedal with dual springs on each side, offering up to 110 lbs. of resistance and rotational, reciprocal movement patterns that a standard single-pedal design can’t provide.
Can it be used alongside a Trapeze Table?
Yes. Its height is matched to a Trapeze Table, so it can double as a surface extender and expand the range of exercises available in a combined setup.
What is included with the purchase?
Every unit ships with 4 Balanced Body Signature Springs, a dowel for traditional single-pedal work, transport wheels, and a 10 year warranty.
Studios that already own a Trapeze Table will find the matched height especially useful, since it turns two pieces of equipment into a single connected workstation for extended sequences without repositioning clients between apparatus.
Caring for Your Combo Chair
To keep it performing reliably, periodically inspect the Cactus 2.0 Resistance System and springs for wear, wipe down the padded pedal and handles after use, and store the unit away from direct sunlight and excess humidity. Like the rest of our chair lineup, this design builds on the training philosophy of Joseph Pilates, whose original Wunda Chair still informs how equipment like this is engineered today.
